William D. Murray
Bill’s unique experience from having served in several key management positions in high growth or turnaround situations at companies from start-up to multibillion dollar global enterprises provides our clients with expertise in areas of finance, accounting, strategic planning, M&A, integration, right-sizing, technology, operations and corporate administration.
He brings executive level, multinational experience in retail, financial services, distribution and manufacturing in both consumer and commercial industries. He has provided expertise in the following roles during his 25 year career for both public and private companies:
- Served as CFO and Controller in a high growth retail and distribution conglomerate with operations in US, Canada, Europe and Asia with sales of $4.0 billion and over 4,000 locations.
- Served as CFO for factory-owned divisions including commercial vehicle truck sales, parts, and service and its integration and turnaround merger into a related factory-owned automotive engine and parts distribution company combining for $1.2 billion and 15 facilities.
- Served as Vice President of Operations, including strategic planning and implementation within a roll-up of 350 stores, centralized production, distribution and call center for publicly held $350 million consumer retail gift company.
- Served as CFO and then President of a development and construction finance company with $750 million outstanding and $1.8 billion in originations, during its time of growth and workout.
- Served as the original Corporate Controller that created the accounting, reporting and IT function for the captive finance company of a $10 billion publicly held automotive retailer.
- Provided receivership, forensics and workout of a $250 million real estate finance “Ponzi scheme” fraud involving 20 participating banks and $1.6 billion in transaction volume.
- Performed a financial review and evaluation to the senior creditor of a heavy equipment manufacturer’s financial plan that was included in its bankruptcy reorganization.
- Performed receivership duties of a distressed software company with marketable intellectual property.
- Conducted a financial and operational review culminating with the design and implementation of strategic plan and turnaround effort for a $3 million pet food manufacturer.
- Performed an audit and asset analysis to a large public telecom company’s recapitalization and turnaround.
Bill received his Bachelors of Science degree in Business with a major in Accounting from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA, with honors. Bill then joined Price Waterhouse in Hackensack, NJ. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the New Jersey State Society of CPAs, and the Association for Corporate Growth.
